‘Murdered, dumped body in well’: Bank cashier, woman held for killing engineer husband in Rajasthan

BHILWARA: The Nimbahera Sadar and Kotwali police arrested an Indian Bank cashier within 24 hours for the murder of a RUIDP engineer due to an illicit relationship. The accused, along with the deceased's wife, killed the engineer husband and dumped the body in a well to hide the crime.Chittorgarh SP Sudhir Joshi stated that Thursday, Ladu Lal Balai from Asind police station area in Bhilwara district reported that his son Motilal and daughter-in-law Sonia were living in Nimbahera for the past two-and-a-half years. Motilal worked as an engineer at RUIDP. On May 14 at 8:30pm, Sonia called her father-in-law to say that her husband was not answering the phone. Ladu Lal also could not reach Motilal and went to Nimbahera and filed a missing complaint.The next morning, while searching the surrounding area, the family saw bloodstains near a well. They discovered a body inside the well. The police arrived and retrieved Motilal's body, which had a deep wound on the back of the head, injuries on the back, and a cut on the elbow. Based on the family's report, a case was registered against unknown criminals for murdering Motilal.Chittorgarh ASP Sarita Singh and Nimbahera DSP Badri Lal Rao supervised the formation of a special team, including Nimbahera Kotwali SHO Ramsumer Meena, Nimbahera Sadar SHO Sanjay Sharma, and the cyber cell.
The team gathered information from locals and suspicious individuals, analysed call details and other suspicious numbers, and used technical and physical evidence from the crime scene.The police detained 32-year-old Veer Singh Meena, a bank cashier from Karauli district's Shri Mahavir Ji police station area, for questioning. During interrogation, the accused confessed to the murder, revealing that he and the deceased's wife plotted the crime due to their illicit relationship. They took the engineer to a secluded spot on May 14 and killed him. Veer Singh Meena was arrested, and the police are questioning Sonia about her involvement.
