ChatGPT is currently experiencing an outage affecting users worldwide. As reported by outage tracking website Downdetector thousands of users are impacted across multiple markets.
OpenAI has yet to disclose details about the cause or the full extent of the outage. As per Downdetector, the latest ChatGPT's downtime is affecting users across US, UK and India. More than 2,000 people across these markets have reported facing issues with the AI tool. Downdetector indicates a spike in complaints around 6:56 PM, with the number continuing to rise as more users report problems. At the time of writing, 125 users reported an issue with ChatGPT in India, while in UK and US, 436 and 1,424 users noted facing problems with the AI tool, respectively.
How this outage is affecting users
According to Downdetector data, 85% users reported facing problems with ChatGPT. While other 10% and 5% noted error on website and web browser. In the US, 93% users reported issues with the AI tool and the remaining 6% and 1% users noted problems with ChatGPT’s website and API, respectively. Meanwhile, in the UK, 88% complained facing issues with ChatGPTI app, while 11% and 1% users noted problems with the website and the app, respectively.

This isn’t the first time ChatGPT has experienced downtime this year. A similar outage occurred last week as the Ghibli AI art trend gained traction, which was later acknowledged by OpenAI. In a statement shared at that time, OpenAi said:
