38-year-old techie checks into Noida hotel with girlfriend, dies by suicide after quarrel

NOIDA: A 38-year-old engineer died by suicide on Friday allegedly after a dispute over the treatment of a dog with his live-in partner with whom he checked into a hotel in Sector 27. No suicide note has been found.
As the woman came out of the washroom, she saw the man hanging from the fan. After she informed the hotel staff, the man was rushed to a hospital but declared dead on arrival. His family has not lodged a complaint yet.
Police said the man was estranged from his wife and was living with the 22-year-old woman, a BBA student, for the last two years.
He had come to the hotel with his girlfriend at 11am on Thursday. The woman told cops that their dog was ill for the past few days and there was an argument between the two over its treatment, shortly after which he ended his life. Investigation is on.
