Shilo Sanders 'fired' dad Deion Sanders as agent amid outrage over brother Shedeur's NFL Draft fall

Shilo Sanders, brother of Shedeur, makes a significant career move. He signs with Drew Rosenhaus, a prominent agent. This follows Shedeur's unexpected drop in the NFL Draft. Shilo was earlier represented by his father, Deion Sanders. He joins Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent. The decision highlights Shilo's pursuit of an independent career.

The 2025 NFL Draft came and went with its usual dose of surprises, but none raised more eyebrows than the unexpected fall of Shedeur Sanders. Projected as a second-round selection at worst, the talented quarterback slid all the way to the fifth round, landing with the Cleveland Browns—a development that left analysts, fans, and insiders equally stunned.

Shilo Sanders blames Deion for Shedeur’s fall, hires new agent

As the shockwaves of that moment settled, it wasn’t just Shedeur who felt the impact. His older brother, Shilo Sanders, took it as a wake-up call. In what many see as a pivotal career decision, Shilo announced during a Twitch livestream that he had officially parted ways with their father, Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, as his representative and signed with prominent agent Drew Rosenhaus.
“Dad was our agent," Shilo candidly said, "but that hasn't been working out too good. So today I had to sign with an agent.”

The move didn't come out of thin air. In the aftermath of Shedeur's fall in the draft, speculations emerged about whether Deion’s hands-on involvement in his sons’ careers might have backfired. Sports commentator Stephen A. Smith was among those who didn’t hold back: “NFL teams don't want to deal with Shedeur Sanders because of his dad's influence and they 'can't admit it.' [Shedeur's] not gonna just take instructions ... he's going to challenge your football intellect.”

While Shedeur’s talent isn’t being questioned, many believe that his association with a strong-willed and outspoken father like Deion might have made NFL teams wary of potential complications. For Shilo, watching his younger brother's draft day frustration may have sparked a sense of urgency—one that ultimately led him to make a career-defining decision.
Though Shilo wasn’t selected in the draft, his persistence was rewarded soon after. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed him as an undrafted free agent, giving the defensive back a much-deserved shot at the league. During his collegiate career—spanning South Carolina, Jackson State, and Colorado—Shilo proved himself as a versatile and productive safety. With 134 tackles, five forced fumbles, and a pick-six across his final two seasons at Colorado, his resume speaks for itself.
The change in representation could mark a fresh beginning for Shilo. By signing with Drew Rosenhaus, one of the most influential agents in the NFL, he’s now under a different spotlight—one driven more by merit and less by legacy.
This moment also places Deion Sanders in an unusual position. As a coach who has guided both sons through college football, he now watches them transition to the NFL without his direct involvement. While he’s publicly said he has no intentions of coaching at the professional level, Deion has hinted that the only exception would be to coach his sons—a door that now feels slightly more distant.
Ultimately, Shilo’s move isn’t just a personal choice—it reflects a deeper understanding of how legacy and independence must coexist. By stepping away from his father’s representation, he isn’t turning his back on family, but rather carving out his own professional path in a league where perception can be just as crucial as performance.
